Mini Review - Benefit High Beam

Hey Lovelies!
So it's Monday today, and I have decided to carry on with my mini reviews of all the products from the Benefit "Go Tropicoral" kit. I'm going to be reviewing the very famous "High Beam" today, which I have enjoyed using.

High Beam is designed to be a luminous complexion enhancer, which I would agree with. Benefit describe it as being "A satiny Pink Liquid highlighter for cheek & brow bones".

What I like ?
I do really like this highlighter, and the main reason is because its lovely and awakening. I have pale skin which means that this highlighter works nicely on my skin tone. I also find it surprisingly natural on my skin, as some highlighters can make too much of an appearance sometimes. I am wearing it above, and hopefully you will be able to tell that it's the area which is attracting the light.

What I don't like ?
I think I may still prefer "Girl Meets Pearl" as it has Gold & Pink undertones making it even more versatile. I also have suspicions about how long this highlighter lasts, as it doesn't seem to take me long to think "Where has it gone?". I put it on again this morning, and noticed that within about 2hours it wasn't actually visible any longer. It's a shame, but I think that I might be more suited to powder highlighters. So if any of you lovelies can recommend me a great powder highlighter, then make sure you comment below!

Price
The price of this product is £18.50 which is actually cheaper than some of their other highlighters. I do feel like this product would last you ages, but if you have trouble making products "stay" on your face, then I don't think this product is for you.

Final Verdict
I really wanted to love this, and in some ways I actually do. However, I just couldn't justify buying the full product knowing that it haS less than 2 hours stay time on me. I would rate this product as a B, because the colour and initial results are amazing, but the longevity just isn't there for me. I know a lot of people love this product, so I would always suggest trying it out at your local Benefit counter first.

  2. Hey India, great review hon! It's not a cream highlighter but have you tried MAC's Cream Colour Base in Pearl? I think it'd look really nice on you as it works well on pale skin, and it's long wearing as well! If your looking for a powder higlighter though I can recommened the highlighter that comes with the Sleek Contour kit. Hope that helps :) xxx

  9. Hi India,

This product is great i am one of those people that love it, have been using it for years now :) but i agree it does not last long and there are many more out there in the market more costly and longer lasting. Great blog xx

  10. Tried this at Shoppers and want it badly, but can't justify buying another highlighter atm since I already have a similar looking one from the body shop! Sorry to hear it doesn't last long, though I find I'm the opposite to you where I notice cream highlighters all day but the powder ones fade - maybe it would last longer on me! Haha fingers crossed!

  17. I use this everyday and i really like it upon application but i think your right, it tends to fade off. I used to use a Bourjois (possible spelling mistake ha) palette powder highlighter which was really amazing, i'm not even sure if it's still being made but you should keep an eye out! x

  20. Looks like a lovely highlighter and the effect is beautiful on your skin! Too bad you can only enjoy it for 2 hours. It's quite a shame, because for that price, the least you can expect is it to last longer!
    Great review!

  21. Great review hun and it looks lovely on you. Thats such a shame about the staying time of it. I've always wanted to try this but I've always been put off just because of its liquid base formula. But i do want to try it at some point xx

  22. I really like this, although I agree that it doesn't seem to last too long. Topshop do a powder highlighter called sunbeam that's more goldy- you only need the tiniest tiniest bit so it lasts ages and stays really well so you don't need to reapply xx

  23. I'm a big fan- I normally like a matte look, and hate sparkle, but it gives a nice sheen and is easily controllable
