Hello my Lovelies!
I hope you're all having a good week so far? Today's post is going to be all about my favourite topic... skincare! I was first introduced to Dermalogica at my favourite beauty clinic Taje located in South Wales. I love skincare and have worked within the skincare and the beauty/spa industry. After trying a couple of Dermalogica sachet samples, I knew that there were a few products that took my fancy and I was excited to get involved with a few of their new releases! I hope you enjoy this review lovelies and I would love to hear from you in the comments section below. The Dermalogica Skin Soothing Hydrating Lotion is described as a lightweight moisturiser that aims to improve dehyrated, breakout prone and uncomfortable skin types. I must admit I'm very lucky not to have breakout prone skin (touch wood) but I do suffer with dehydration and more recently spots of dryness, so I was excited to see how this sheer oil-free moisturiser would perform. I replaced my Clinique Moisture Surge to see how I felt about using this moisturiser on a daily basis and so far so good! It's a very light-weight formula that is very easy to apply and instantly feels cooling and soothing. Key ingredients include squalane, Hyaluronic Acid that are known to soften, nourish and relieve signs of dehydration. A variety of gentle botanicals including ginger, orange and grapefruit also help to soothe and protect skin from any uncomfortable sensations. I'm really enjoying using this product and I'm also a fan of its uplifting fragrance and it's tube style packaging. I do love a pot, but pot packaging isn't the best for keeping active ingredients fresh, plus a tube is generally more hygienic and easy to travel with. I believe this particular Dermalogica range is targeted towards teens and young adults, which is great as it can be quite hard to find a moisturiser that manages to hydrate your skin, whist fighting problematic skin concerns.
Next up we have the Dermalogica Hydrablur Primer, which is another new product from Dermalogica. Designed to blur fine line and pores, as well as hydrating and brightening skin. So, as you can imagine I was equally excited to try out this new offering from Dermalogica. I go in and out of using a primer, but I'm not a huge fan of an overly siliconey texture, which stops me from using a lot of my primers on a regular basis. However, the Dermalogica HydraBlur Primer is lightweight and non-greasy, which makes it feel more like a skincare product than a primer. Key ingredients include Abyssinian seed oil, Wu-Zhu-Yu (a fruit extract) which help to brighten and smooth the skins texture by creative a non-occlusive film, helping to maintain your skins moisture levels without clogging pores. Mushroom extract also helps to reduce pore size and visibility (Bonus) If that isn't good enough then Dermalogica use a H20 Release Complex of sodium hyaluronate also help to optimise hydration levels to maintain skin flexibility and comfort throughout the day. I've been using this after moisturising and I'm SO impressed by this primer, it leaves my skin feeling matte, but silky without any residue! I've been applying this before my foundation mostly, but also on it's own after my skincare routine. I do think it helps to keep my foundation on better and I can tell, because my foundation seems to be lasting on my nose a lot longer. Overall, I think it's fantastic and one of the best primers I've tried in a very long time!
I'm so happy with both of these new Dermalogica releases! They have become a real dream team within my skincare routine over the past few weeks. When used together they help to hydrate, prepare and protect my skin throughout the whole day! They are also impressive by themselves and I think that the moisturiser would be the perfect rescue for troublesome skin that most of us experience during our teens and early-mid twenties. The primer is also a fantastic product and really does feel like more of a skincare product than a traditional primer, that I find sometimes can feel a bit funny on the skin. I hope you've enjoyed this post my loves and I would love to hear your thoughts below. Each and every comment honestly means the world to me and puts the biggest smile on my face!
Lots of Love
