Revlon Pro Collection Salon One Step Hair Dryer + GIVEAWAY!

Hello my lovelies - Not only is it May Bank holiday, it's also my 25th birthday! So what better day to share my favourite new styling tool along with a chance for one of my lovely readers to win one too. As much as I love having long, thick hair drying it has always been my idea of a nightmare! I'm often unable to dry it evenly without having to do some sort of a gymnastics sequence to get all areas dry, so it's safe to say I was thrilled when Revlon got in touch about their amazing Revlon Pro Collection One-Step Hair Dryer and Styler. As I mentioned I have very long and thick hair which has a tendency to get coarse and dry throughout the lower lengths yet slightly weighed down and oily at the roots. I often find that drying my hair makes it a bit "Fly-away" and even though I deal with it, I much prefer smooth but bouncy locks, which is exactly the result I get from the Revlon Paddle Dryer. Plus, I'm so excited to be able to give one of these amazing tools away to a lucky reader!
Combining the power of a dryer and the lovely smooth effect that you get from a paddle brush, The Revlon Perfectionist 2-in-1 Dryer delivers smooth, blow-dried hair that is full of vibrancy and vitality in half the time of a normal dryer. Its innovative design also allows you to blow-dry the back of your hair with ease, which personally I always find hard to do. It really is a great product to create salon looking hair time after time without the hefty price tag of going to a Salon.

The dryer features a conditioning ioniser, which ensures that any static or fly-aways are smoothed for the ultimate finish. It also has two heat settings plus a cool shot button and comes with a fantastic flexible tangle-free brush head, with massaging ball tips - As you can see I've already put it to good use, I just couldn't wait. I have really enjoyed using this dryer and I have to admit I was slightly sceptical on how the brush would work on my troublesome hair-type and I have been pleasantly surprised. I am able to brush through my hair and definitely find that the brush head is good at de-tangling! I personally still like to use my wet brush first, as I do get some serious tangles in my hair. However, the results I'm left with are really impressive! I've actually had a few comments on my hair since using this dryer on how shiny and sleek my hair looks. I really like the fact that this works with longer hair and it isn't too heavy to hold either, I can also imagine this would work amazingly well on a lot of other hair types too!

I'm SO excited to be able to offer one of my lovely readers the chance to win this fantastic styling tool. Please use the widget below to enter - Good Luck!

April BirchBox Review

Who doesn't love a beauty box? It's great to try out new brands and of course create a lifetime supply of samples! Find out what I loved from the April Birchbox and what I wasn't as fussed on.

Mannakadar are a totally new brand to me, which is one of the main reason I love subscription boxes. Described as a 3-in-1 product the universal and lightweight shades can be used as a highlighter, bronzer or eyeshadow duo.

Verdict  - Sadly, I'm not a fan of this product for bronzing and highlighting purposes. Despite having great colour pay off and looking great in the pan, I found the darker shade quite muddy and hard to work with. The quality of the packaging also wasn't great and part of the clasp broke off on opening. I do quite like the highlight shade, but my next step is to trial these two shades on my eyes.

Another new brand on the block (for me anyway) described as a luxuriously nourishing conditioner created especially to tame your wild mane, this was a product I was really looking forward to trying as I struggle to find conditioning products that I really like.

Verdict  I love it! I've never used anything from this brand before, but this conditioner not only smells amazing, but actually does such a good job of conditioning my wild mane. My hair tends to get oily/built up at the roots, but dry coarse and generally wild throughout the lower lengths. My hair is left feeling moisturised, smooth and fabulous.
Well that's a mouthful ha ha... and again a brand I've not tried before. Packed full of coconut oil, Shea butter, cupuacu, jojoba wax and Tiare flower this lotion is brimming to the max with sunshine-ready ingredients.

Verdict  - I'm not a huge fan of body products in subscription boxes, but this one is definitely an exception. If you have ever had the pleasure of using anything from the Elemis Frangipani Range then you will LOVE and I mean LOVE this, as it's even more intense in my opinion. It's amazingly moisturising and is one of those products that just transports you to a tropical abyss.. if only in your mind. The scent is pretty strong, but if you love Frangipani or generally sweet and tropical scents you will love this, as it stays on your skin for hours after application.

Described as a powerhouse exfoliator with the addition of the super-ingredient Artic cotton, known for its moisturising and dextoxifying properties.

Verdict  The most impressive product in the box! - Admittedly I am a skincare junkie, so I was pretty excited to try this product, especially as I love the Arctic as a place (Plus they have a cream called Lapland Cream... I mean how awesome is that) The most impressive thing about this exfoliator is the fact that the results are instant. The skin is smoothed and soothed without any discomfort that you can sometimes experience with more scrubby exfoliators. If you're looking for refreshed skin this one is a must have.
ModelCo are a brand I have used when I was a bit younger, but this was something that I was yet to try. Described as a foolproof eyeliner that glides on with ease, boasting serious staying power.

Verdict  This product actually turned up broken in my BirchBox. However, I have to say the team at Birchbox did address the situation pretty quickly and I was sent a brand new liner with no extra fuss. However, I haven't been impressed with this liner and much prefer my Collection felt liner. I'm not sure if it's because I'm not used to the texture, but I just found this to drag slightly.

Overall, I do really like BirchBox but I'm quite interested to trial another subscription box to compare - What beauty subscription would you recommend?

Luxury Shower Routine 🚿

I never used to like showers all that much and much preferred to indulge in a long soak in the bath. However, I've really found a shower routine that invigorates my mind, body and soul ready for the day ahead, which I thought I would share especially with the new week almost upon us. The ultimate "Power" shower routine for me combines a mixture of mindful moments and some of my favourite invigorating products.

I love the way that showers steam up, which also makes it a particularly good place to make use of all of your favourite smellies and to take a few mindful moments to yourself, plus it opens up your pores and really helps to clear away any build up. Whether, you're into sweet, floral, woody or aromatherapy scents the combination of steam will really help to submerge you in your favourite feel good scent. Before I get into the shower I apply A full pipette of my NEOM Energy Burst Bath and Shower Drops  to my chest, which contains a therapeutic blend of 17 pure essential oils designed to reinvigorate and mentally uplift your senses (full review) Once I step into the shower the already uplifting scent takes on a whole new level and gives me such a sense of positivity.

Next up I take one full pump of the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel (Honestly, I could sing its praises all day) A pretty pink gentle non-foaming cleanser that works it's magic to restore radiance and leave you with wonderfully soft, supple skin and that's exactly what it does with it's blend of bio-available vitamins and fruit enzymes. I only cleanse once in the morning, as my evening routine is pretty hefty with a few more steps to ensure my skin is perfectly clean. I then move onto my favourite exfoliator, which forms the perfect duo when used alongside my Oskia Cleansing Gel. The Elemis Gentle Rose Exfoliator is another gel product with tiny exfoliating Jojoba beads, Hydrating Moroccan Rose and soothing Cucumber that leaves your skin glowing and ready for the day ahead. I use this around three to four times a week as it's so gentle and smells just like Fentimans Rose Lemonade tastes, it's so delicious! - When washing your face "in-shower" make sure that the temperature isn't too hot and that the water isn't in constant contact with your face, as this can dry out your skin. If you suffer with dry skin anyway then washing your face post shower will ensure that your skin isn't exposed to warm water for too long.

I then move onto body care and I ensure that I use really invigorating and hydrating products so that I can step out of the shower on a complete high. When it comes to body washes there are two that both myself and Daniel can't get enough of firstly, the Lush Dirty Springwash  is a minty, fresh and stimulating shower/hair gel that makes you feel squeaky clean and raring to go. I also love to use the Aveeno Daily Moisturising Apricot Yogurt Wash, which is so gentle and nourishing due to it's super ingredient Colloidal Oatmeal, plus it smells divine. I have used so many body care products that claim to be moisturising, but none of them live up to the results I get from Aveeno, you need to check out their products if you haven't already. Last but definitely not least is the NEOM Great Day Body Scrub, which I have recently repurchased as it's so frickin good! It is a sugar-based body scrub that combines 8 uplifting essential oils including Wild Mint, Mandarin, Safflower and Vitamin E to remove dead skin cells and to give you smooth and re hydrated skin. Not only is this the best scrub I have ever used, but its beautiful blend really does uplift your mood and finishes off my power shower a treat.

I hope you enjoyed this post lovelies, don't forget to leave your recommendations below!

4 Fabulous Face Masks

Whether it's a full on pamper or a midweek treat, a face mask is always a great way to treat your skin and feel totally fantastic at the same time. When it comes to face masks I have a few hero's, so I thought I would go ahead and share them with you today. Apologies, they're looking pretty battered and bruised, but what can I say? They're loved!

Firstly we have the Elemis Herbal Lavender Repair Mask, which is an old faithful within my collection. A soothing yet powerful clay mask, which gives sensitive, blemish prone and congested skin a much needed clean out. Next up we have what I call my "Party Mask" as it makes me feel totally fabulous after each and every use the Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Skin Clay Mask contains everything from Spanish clay to Rosehip and Sweet Almond Oil not to forget an impressive BioNymph Peptide Complex, which seriously aids collagen production. It's like cashmere for the skin. Next up we have the Origins Originak Skin Retexturizing Mask which is the ultimate glow getter out of the group! Not only is this a face mask, but it's actually an exfoliator too. Mediterranean Rose Clay, Canadian and Willow Herb gently cleanse, whilst refining the skin and restoring its clarity. Last but not least is a bit of a newbie on the block, which I received more recently in a gift set! The Elemis Exotic Cream Moisturising Mask is a beautiful creamy mask, which hydrates the skin using Mimosa, Honey, Sea Rocket, Orange and Bergamot. I love the mask for a boost of hydration and often use this midweek when my skin is a little lacking.

What are your favourite Face Masks?
