Superdrug Haul | Skincare & Tanning Treats!

Hey Beauties! Hope you're all enjoying the much welcomed sunshine we're having at the moment. It's so nice to finally get outside and enjoy the gentle breeze and warmer weather! I'm all about that BBQ life and have had two already, I'm totally obsessed with alfresco dining and love how much happier it makes me feel. Earlier today I popped to town and ended up picking up a random selection of goodies from Superdrug, so I thought I'd share them with you on the blog. I'm also loving how easy it is to get blog content with the Olympus Pen, my poor 700D hasn't had a look in the past few months.

So a quick update! Last week I posted about the Garnier Soothing Tissue Mask, which was really lovely. However, Monday night after work I picked up the same mask but in the De-tiring formula and I'm absolutely smitten, after two uses during the week my skin has calmed right down and has been in its best condition in a while. I had to pick up another two and I can't wait to use one tomorrow as part of my Sunday Slumber pamper routine.

After putting out a Twitter poll first thing this morning, it was decided by you lovelies that I should try Bondi Sands over my usual favourite Vita Liberata. I've just applied one coat and even though it's too early to review it properly, it does smell absolutely amazing.
After picking up my first ever bottle of Bondi Sands Dark Tan, I decided to get myself a new Mitt, I mean why not?! The MineTan mitt really caught my eye with it's bright packaging and foam/velvet feel. I've already used this as I was desperate for a touch of bronze and I actually really liked it. On first use it seemed to spread the tan out more effortlessly and evenly, despite sounding a little like a squeeky window cleaner!

Do I need another cleanser? The honest answer is absolutely not, but all my cleansers are quite chunky and not exactly travel friendly. With my trip to New York less than a week away, I wanted to get something that was travel friendly, easy to use and nourishing. I stumbled across the New Garner Honey Gel, which is 96% natural and contains Honey Flower, known for its nourishing properties.
When it comes to drugstore skincare, I really seem to get along with Garnier and I love multi-tasking products! I picked up the Aloe Water Jelly partially because I was curious and partially because I wanted the super cute free cup that came with any three purchases! My skin can get seriously dehydrated, especially after long haul flights, so I'm hoping this 3 in 1 product will help to give my skin a much needed boost of hydration.

I picked this up on a total whim and quite an expensive one at that! I'm obsessed with face sprays whether they tan, or simply hydrate. I love to keep a subtle glow on my face and apparently after one use there is a noticeable difference, plus it stays put for a few days, it's sounding real good! I'm not sure how I'm going to get along with this, so will be definitely updating my blog with my thoughts on this one once I've trailed it out properly.
I wear false lashes every single day, which I know might sound crazy for some but I find it so much easier to pop them on than taking ages trying to get my desired look with mascara. My lashes are quite short, so I find that false eyelashes really good for brightening up my eye area. I always go for the Eylure Volume range!

I feel like I'm totally missing out on this brand, I need to try more of their products that are constantly getting raved about. I picked up this priming base water, which I'm hoping will be a good setting/priming spray until I get a chance to stock up on my beloved Urban Decay All Nighter!

So it's safe to say I'm well stocked up on hydrating and tanning goodies, what have you splurged on recently?

Lots of love

Sunday Slumber | Anything That Costs You Your Peace Is Too Expensive

Hello Beauties, Hope you've had a lovely Sunday? I ran a few errands this morning and packed my suitcase for my trip to New York later this month. However, I always reserve Sunday afternoon for my pamper routine, as it helps to relax me before the week ahead. I must admit I love a sheet/tissue mask, it took me a while to get used to them but now I simply can't get enough. A few of my favourites come from Origins, Charlotte Tilbury and Tony Moly. However, after seeing so many fabulous reviews on the Garnier Skin Active Tissue Masks I decided to add one to this weeks Sunday pamper routine.

The Super Hydrating Soothing Mask For Dry & Sensitive Skin is infused with relaxing Chamomile extract known for its soothing and calming properties, as well as Hyaluronic Acid and an extra boost of hydrating serum. I decided to opt for this mask, as my skin is currently leaning towards the sensitive side (redness, breakouts, you know all that good stuff 👀) Chamomile extract is a total power house ingredient as it's not only soothing and moisturising but also antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic, not to mention it is also super high in antioxidants, which helps to prevent breakouts and inflammation. My skin is feeling super moisturised right now and I will definitely be re-purchasing this mask in the near future.

I also adore the NEOM Perfect Night's Sleep Pillow Mist, which gets regular use throughout the week. However, it fits perfectly into my Sunday pamper routine, as I love to spray it in the Bathroom and also onto my Pyjamas to achieve the ultimate zen. I then mist it across my pillow about 5-10 minutes before I go to bed, which helps me to drift off to sleep. If you struggle to fall asleep, I'd really recommend giving this product a try! I also love the Elemis Soothing Temple Balm, which works wonders to relax and ease the symptoms of tension headaches and general anxiety.

Over the past few months I've started to get more into using Crystals to help release negative energy, so on a Sunday I always get out my Reiki infused Amethyst chunks that release a relaxing energy, as well as working to balance the mind ahead of a new week.

Hope you all have a fabulous week!

Why You Need To Add Mushrooms To Your Skincare

A little while back I used to work in the spa/health industry which allowed me to get involved in some fantastic skincare training that has given me a better understanding of the ingredients and the science behind products themselves. I'm by no means a skincare expert and of course all of our skin types are different meaning that something that could work for me might not work for you and vice versa! However, I've been using a little miracle worker recently and wanted to talk more about it's ingredients and why they're so great for sensitive/stressed skin.

I'm not a huge fan of mushrooms when it comes to eating them, but in my skincare I can't get enough. I'm pretty sure I use this face mask more than I should, but I'm obsessed with the results and how the redness on my skin instantly vanishes before my eyes.

Mushrooms contain an array of benefits for your complexion. They are packed full of vitamins and antioxidants, which boost the overall health and appearance of your skin. The Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Mushroom range is a super duper skincare regime that harnesses the benefits of 'miracle mushrooms' - Reishi, Cordyceps and Chaga all of which were discovered by Dr.Weil during his travels around China. This effective, soothing and potent blend of mushrooms with over 7000 years of use works wonders to promote healthier and happier skin.

Whenever my skin is red or in need of rescuing I reach for this miracle mask, which works effortlessly to restore a calmer complexion. If you suffer with redness or stressed skin, I would highly recommend stopping at your nearest Origins counter to get some samples!

Celebrating Your Micro-Wins

Hey Sweeties!
Hope you're all keeping well? I've had a super hectic week with the launch of our new website at work. It's taken up a huge amount of time and energy, but it's always rewarding when a big project comes together and is well received. It can take a long time to reach some goals, but what so many of us forget about is the micro-wins that come along the way to any achievement. Here are three reasons why celebrating your micro-wins are so important when it comes to boosting your positive mental attitude.

1 - they bridge the gap
As I mentioned above the majority of goals/achievements don't just happen overnight. In most cases they are built from many micro-wins, which lead to the end goal overtime. It's so important to celebrate and reward yourself each time you have a 'micro-win' as this helps to bridge the gap between you and your long term goal, which might not seem as far away if you take the time to acknowledge each of your mini successes.

2 - they build resilience
Resilience is key in achieving goals as it allows you to maintain the strength you need when things aren't going quite to plan. It's so easy to loose motivation and give up, but celebrating the small accomplishments helps you to build stamina and power to carry on.

3 - they improve overall happiness
It's easy to forget about small accomplishments or even to not acknowledge them at all. However, Micro-wins can create a sense of steady accomplishment, which is especially great for anyone who struggles with short attention spans (cough me) - Celebrating every small win helps to keep you motivated, whilst releasing positive endorphins.

Whether you're on the way to achieving a fitness goal, or you're striving to achieve high in your career always remember to celebrate your mini successes.

You got this.

Bank Holiday Catch Up

Hello Beauties! I hope you've enjoyed your Easter break (if you've had one) I work in the hospitality/marketing industry and this is the first full Easter break I've had in about five years and it's been the perfect chance to spend time with my family and get some much needed rest. I don't know about you, but I'm still waiting for spring, I hope it comes soon otherwise we might just have to jump straight into summer. As much as I want the sun to shine, it's actually quite nice to have a rainy, cosy day by the log fire on a bank holiday. Every time I plan something for a bank holiday, I get stuck in traffic and end up wishing I had just stayed at home!

I'm trying to get on the blog as much as I can, but it's sometimes difficult to be creative 24/7. My job relies on me to be creative and effective and sometimes by the time I get home, I'm all out of my creative juices. I'm finding more and more that I don't always feel like writing structured reviews on here, but instead just fancy rambling away... a little like I'm doing now. I know that's not really what my readers want to see, but I'm hoping I can strike a balance between random ramblings and beauty related content.

The past few months have been quite tough in more ways than one and I'm really looking to streamline life in the next few months. After having an interesting conversation a few weeks ago with a health professional, it's really made me realise that I can't please/help everyone and that my health and well being is paramount. I pretty much give my life and soul to everything/everyone apart from myself, which is probably why I feel exhausted all the time.

I'm going to be spending my birthday in New York and have a country retreat planned in Bath shortly after, I'm so looking forward to a new adventure that I'm hoping will inspire me. I saw a quote the other day 'Stay close to people who feel like sunshine' and that's what I plan to do! I think it's pretty normal for most people to get to a point where they just want to clear out negativity, after all it can come in all shapes and sizes. Even if I can't achieve it straight away, I plan to take the small steps that I need to in order to relieve any unnecessary stress.

Mic drop, I'm done. ;)

Hope you have a lovely day!

Lots of Love
